These are the two surveys developed by our team for surveys along the Gulf Coast of Mississippi for Real Food Gulf Coast. The purpose is to survey the shopping and vendor attendees of the two older markets (Ocean Springs and Long Beach) to gain a clearer picture of the potential outreach goals for RFGC's third market (Gulfport) which is located near a food desert and has much higher levels of poverty and to also help the two existing markets with their planning. The activities include surveying shoppers at the two markets to find out their shopping patterns both at market and at their grocery markets and to survey the existing market vendors to find out what attracts them to market vending. A Gulfport community agency and a MS Agricultural Researcher and Professor are surveying non-market attending shoppers and farmers respectively as well. This information will be organized and analyzed into a final report in 2014. The first is the farmer survey and the second is the shopper survey.
